-Born in Atlantic City, NJ – February 21, 1927
-Moved to Philadelphia in 1933
-Holy Child School (1933-1941)-played CYO basketball (Coach Charles Minnick)
-LaSalle High School (1941-1945)-played basketball (Coaches Joe Meehan and Obie O’Brien)
-PA Maritime Academy (1945-1946)-played basketball (Coach Capt. Homer)
-Post War-played basketball for Resurrection Parish (Coach Bill Johns)
-Seminary (1947-1957)-played basketball and won championship in Germantown Summer league (10 seminarians & Tom Gola on team)
-Coached golf 25 years (1957-1982) at Cardinal Dougherty High School (Won Catholic League title in 1973)
-Coached golf at LaSalle University (1983-1989) All teams had lessons with Bud Lewis, long time Philadelphia PGA pro and several other pros in the area
-Coached Cardinal Dougherty Summer basketball league 1963
-Coached Cardinal Dougherty Football 1957-1959
-Chaplain, Temple Football (1963-1969)-Coaches George Makris & John Rogers
